Hi everyone. Really looking for some advice and help here! I have finally started on treatment after being diagnosed with Crohn's a few months back. My Consultant has started me on Budesonide (which I believe is the same as Entocort?) starting with 3 tablets a day for 3 weeks, then 2 tablets a day for 3 weeks and finally 1 tablet a day for 1 week. I was so happy to finally be starting a treatment plan after suffering undiagnosed for many years but I'm now starting to get concerned that I actually feel worse since starting the tablets on Thursday. I was of course expecting some undesired side effects, perhaps a bit of nausea or appetite changes, but I definitely didn't expect my diarrhoea to get worse! It was bad enough before but since starting the Budesonide, it's been even more dreadful I will get a horrible shooting pain in my stomach (by my belly button) and will then need to run to the toilet for an explosive bowel movement. My 'usual' flare up pain is lower than this typically as my inflammation is all in my Terminal Ileum. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? My consultant never mentioned these meds would make me feel worse before I got better and I am really starting to worry and have second thoughts about continuing.
Thanks in advance all x
