I know this is a stupid question but the Entocort I have just started is working!! It's been 2 weeks now. I have an appointment with a new specialist in a month and I am wondering if this will shed some light on my diagnosis and treatment? Does everyone respond well to Entocort? My current GI says everyone always feels better on regular prednisone so I was wondering if this is also true for Entocort?

I had one biopsy that showed TI inflammation but my current GI is still not convinced it's Crohn's. Hence seeing a specialist. Since Entocort targets the small intestine would this be a tell tale sign that my problem is indeed in the TI?

Well I don't think entocort works for everyone. Entocort is indicated for Crohn's in the ileum and ascending colon. If not Crohn's, what diagnosis is your current GI considering?

It doesnt work for everyone, nothing does but if it's helping you that's great and is likely targeting that inflammation in your small intestines.

My doc has been treating me for Crohn's but in light of my gallbladder disease and ultimate surgery to remove it, he's not sure if the GB was causing all of my issues. Well my symptoms came back 4 mos. after GB surgery so now he wants another opinion to confirm Crohn's. My surgeon said GB inflammation can not cause inflammation at the TI. My GI is not so sure. So off I go to a Crohn's and Colitis specialist. Which is just fine with me.

Now that I am responding so well to the Entocort I wonder if this will shed some light on the problem.

I much prefer Entocort, it has less side effects than ordinary prednisone. It is great that it is working.

Entocort has worked wonders for me! Although very expensive, I've been on it twice and been put into what I believe to be remission considering I have no symptoms. I'm in remission right now and don't feel as if I even have IBD. It's so strange. I hope you're able to get answers soon, and I'm glad entocort has helped you feel better! :)
