I live in the UK and take Questran for diarrhea symptoms. For the last few months, I've noticed that it doesn't seem to be working as I expected. Even after increasing the dosage to 12mg a day (2 x 1.5 sachets), it's having the effect it used to. I am almost tempted to say that it's causing me to go to the toilet....
The one thing that I have noticed is that the pharmacy is not giving me the branded Questran but Colestyramine (Sugar free, swetened with Aspartame). Have read somewhere that this is like Questran light and the aspartame makes diarrhea worse.
Can anybody advise me if normal branded Questran is back on the shelves (I know it was discontinued for a while) ?
Also, has anyone in the forum experienced the same problem and was it resolved by switching to the branded Questran without the aspartame?
