Hi all,

I just did my second dose of Humira last night...both times I injected I got extremely fatigued within a couple hours and passed out cold...that is pretty big for me because I am a major insomniac and almost always need a sedative to sleep..but not on injection days! I pass out like a stone! Also notice some edema around the eyes, muscle/joint pain and my fingers look like sausages. Also get a headache but i take care of that pretty easily.. That all said, within a couple of days i feel pretty darn fabulous and i can already tell my Crohn's flare is subsiding. I also got two really bad auto-immune skin issues from my flare that are also starting to clear up after MONTHS!

I am going to stick with the Humira for sure, just wondering if my reaction for the first couple days after injection are normal/common? Any remedies you guys can suggest to help?

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

I do my injections about half an hour before I go to bed, and I'm out cold for 11-12 hours! Absolutely nothing wakes me up until I've slept it off - I've had my partner crawl into bed from night shift, the dog stick his nose in my face, the cat crawl under the covers, my phone ring right next to my ear, all of which would usually wake me up...and not one of them gets a response! I do get a bit of a niggling headache the next day but I think it's mostly from the deep sleep the night before.

I don't get any swelling etc, but I take an antihistamine half an hour before my jab, just in case. It was suggested after I had an anaphylactic reaction to Remicade, and it's now part of my pre-jab routine...and god help anyone who interrupts that routine :)
