I was just diagnosed in December with Crohn's Disease but have been sick for 9 months going on 10. I was fired in October because of my diagnosis. I had to quit college and I was 2 classes from having a career where I could work at home and make a NORMAL WAGE for the first time ever. I'm very poor my family is too poor to help me. Unemployment denied me. I'm waiting on disability but it's already been 3 months. I'm on food stamps but they don't pay the bills. I live with my twin sister and she works a minimum wage job bringing home $100-$150 a week depending on hours, they won't giver her full time and she needs it. I have no money coming in! We have nowhere to live if we can't pay rent or bills. Our parents are both disabled and can't afford toilet paper or food because disability didn't give them enough to live on. They're 4 months behind on rent. I DO NOT QUALIFY for cash assistance which is welfare because I HAVE NO KIDS and I'm NOT PREGNANT! How wrong is that?
After my Colonoscopy in October they put me on Pentasa but the pills were too big so I begged and they switched me to Lialda. It's been helping but I still can't go out alone or wait in lines and I've been on Lialda for 10 weeks! Alternate between nausea, diarrhea, pains, too much gas and bloating to go out even when I need to. I'm always sleepy and fatigued!!!! EXHAUSTED from nothing! Anyone else exhausted from Lialda?
*Can't afford another appointment
*Doc only put me on one medicine Lialda!
*Have no insurance never had any and I'm 23
*Can't get medicaid until disability gets here which could take months or years!!!
*Have been to hospital, docs, statcares over 23 times last year!!!! HCAP is paying 100% of any hospital bill I've ever had because I'm poor. It's a charity through the hospital. The doctors at the other hospital are literally suing me because I owe $1200 I can't pay to them. They want to garnish my wages which I make none and if I get disability they can't take from federal money thank God!
