The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved its new 400 mg mesalamine product indicated for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. The Company released and marketed the product as DELZICOL™ (mesalamine) 400 mg delayed-release capsules.

Just an FYI this is the same drug as Asacol only in capsule form. Asacol has been discontinued and now only Asacol HD or this drug is available for those who need it.
 
The patent was expiring. Since its the exact same drug and they haven't given another explanation I'm just assuming its so they can make more money on sick people.

And once again, I am torn, as I shake my fists to the sky. I will participate in the CCFA walk this year knowing all too well that most of their corporate support comes form such pharmaceutical companies that operate by the means you mention...
