Since my last seriousB flare up, I have been on a reducing dose of prednisolone. I am currently down to 15mg a day from 40mg.
Not only have I gained 9kg since starting the steroids, I am also starting to get my symptoms back!

I have never weighed as much as I do now and it is making me depressed :( I am still in the normal BMI range but I know my body and nobody seems to understand why I am so upset about it...

I just want to scream ! AAAARRRRGHHH :ymad: The mirror is now my worst ennemy :(

Sorry for the rant...

 I'm sorry - it sounds like a very stressful situation!

Have you talked to your GI about your symptoms returning? Hopefully they'll work out something to help you.

As for your weight, I understand where you're coming from. I was always 98lbs, but that was with active disease. I went into remission and now I'm between 103 and 105 - which is still very small, and I know that, but it seems like a lot to me because it's just not what I'm used to. It's definitely hard to adapt. But the weight you've gained on steroids should go down once you're off them, so try not to worry about it too much.

I am having my 3rd does of infliximab on Monday so I will tell one of the nurses then as I am not seeing my GI for another 2 weeks!
Yeah I have always been (in recent years obviously) between 50 and 55 kg.. My flare up took me down to 50kg and now I am 59 kg! I am crossing my fingers to lose the weight very soon!
Thanks for your support! :)

I can totally relate to how you are feeling!
Once when I was on pred I gained 12kgs. it was awful! I did lose it all though!
This time round though I have only gained 1kg, so I am quite happy, although it isnt great.
Try cutting down on salt as a lot of the weight may be water retention rather than fat.
I also had to be so so strict with myself and realise it was a fake hunger rather than a real one, and only eat regular normal meals even if I wanted to cry I was so hungry.
I hope you are much happier soon!
xxxxx

to be honest before crohns I weight 5 stone or little less with not being with child, I was teenager aged 14-16 and I was in my early 20s. I am 8-9 stone and have mainly this weight from 2007 when I told about crohns. And I do have issue about looking 6 months go.
