I was looking back at my journal and one thing I noticed was that near the beginning of the year when things were at their worst, if I was late eating just one meal (by 1 or 2 hours), I would suffer for a week afterwards. I would get symptoms like nausea, lack of appetite, and fatigue. I was wondering if this sounds like a Crohn's symptom or do you think it's something else? I have not been officially diagnosed with anything.

yes i get bad heartburn if i eat even one meal at a very odd time and it sticks around for awhile. Im unclear how my GERD is related to Crohn's except for if i hadn't gone to the Gi for GERD i wouldn't have been dx. though it is inflammation.

How does you "suffer" afterwards?

Well right now I seem to have stabilized...but earlier in the year...it seemed like if I was late eating a meal or maybe if I ate the wrong food (I don't know)...I would get symptoms for about 5 days like: nausea, fatigue especially after meals, stomach bloating, lack of appetite, anxiety, pale skin, feeling sick, and brain fogged.

I am on the highest dose possible of proton-pump inhibitors and when I had my 24 hour Ph test done (intubated for 24 hours) I was told my stomach is STILL producing acid and there is something wrong with the motility of my esophagus. Unfortunately, the medication they give for this will adversely affect my bowels so I can not take it.

I too notice major differences when I skip a meal or am late for a meal. I am wondering if it is b/c the high levels of acid and b/c there is no food in my stomach to work on??

I believe there is a connection between Gerd and Crohn's. Just look at the amount of people on here who have both. They are both the GI tract and it is said that Crohn's can affect anywhere from the mouth to the anus.
