Hello everyone,

Over the weekend I started to feel extremely tired, Sunday is when nausea and sweats started along with mild cramps. Monday it got worse so I went to the ER. The ER dr did bloodworm and urine test, all came back fine. He thought it was a mild flare and gave me a prescription for prednisone, a low dose and tapering off quickly, I have never done a low dose and quick taper. Anyways, today I am feeling a bit better but still sweats and always hot. Could it be possible I need an antibiotic? Anyone have this with a flare? I see my gastro tomorrow. I have had sweats from prednisone before but this started before I even took the prednisone.

Thanks in advance,

Ok, will do. I'm just confused, the dr at the hospital said he didn't see any sign of infection, so I'm not sure why the sweats.

Have you had your thyroid checked out. I get cold really easily because of my thyroid and I am wondering if you could have the opposite with yours?

I do have hypothyroid already. Haven't had it checked lately. But I'm pretty sure this sweat feeling is linked to my flare because it all started the same time. I've been on the same dose of thyroid mess for awhile, doesn't usually change.

That is why I am wondering if I am in a flare because I started itching from my psorasis. Also, my understanding is that the thing with the thyroid is also inflammatory.

Ok, I will definitely mention this to my dr. I usually take an antibiotic during a flare, but yesterday's dr didn't prescribe it.

as I can remember when ever I got a flare up that night when I go to bed I would get the sweats and can't sleep all night from it.

Sweating was pretty normal for me dyring a flare, especially at night where I'd wake up drenched. My torso always felt like it was on fire, I assumed it was increased blood flow to the inflamed area.

I've had crohns for 5-6 years now and usually when I'm having a flare-up I have the night sweats. So I think it's normal?
