Flared up again!

I knew it was too good to last but at least those 3 days after my colonoscopy where amazing while they lasted. I wish I would of never got that prescription filled that the Dr. recommended now because honestly that is what I think started the flare up. It seems to much like a coincedence that the day after taking the Asecol as prescribed all intestinal hell breaks loose followed by an impromptu carpet cleaning this morning that followed me all the way to the bathroom. I hate my butt right now oo:

So I'm taking myself of that blasted Asecol and am continuing the Prednisone as prescribed. So another 2 weeks of my drug cocktail starts and hopefully this puts it back into a psuedo remission like before.

Cocktail:
Liquid diet - 3 ensures, gatorade, other fluids a day for 1 week
Prednisone regimen - working down from 40mg right now
xifaxine - 400mg bid, 2 weeks
cipro - 500mg bid, 2 weeks
nitazoxanide - 500mg bid, 2 weeks
kroeger wormwood combo - 2 caps tid, 2 weeks

Sounds like you are one of the unusual people who have a bad reaction to Asacol. Unfortunately it's one of those things that are impossible to predict! Though I would steer clear from other mesalazine meds too, in case they provoke the same reaction.

I'm sorry you've had a tough time. I had a horrible time on asacol. Still have the effects of ny hair coming out! I've had my fair share of carpet cleaning and love/hate with pred! Good luck to you

I'm sorry to hear about the hair loss on top of it not doing anything for yah. I can't remember if that is a specific side effect off the top of my head, but hopefully you dont have to deal with that for too much longer.

Well one full day of my regimine and back to normal stuff comming out again instead of slush. Still have an interesting sounding tummy though. Sounds like I got a water treatment plant in my gut this morning.

On another note I think I'm at the point of putting a tile walkway to the bathrooms of the house, but the brain fog that comes with this keeps me from actually getting around to it.
