DS has been getting recurring facial flushing that lasts a few hours
Is warm to the touch /bright red then goes away ...:shifty-t:
He doesn't have a fever, hasn't been outside , or upset typically just watching tv ..
He keeps getting cold hands and feet
Has abdominal pain , fatigue and low grade fevers on and off
His scopes/mri and blood work are clear
Any ideas ???

:sign0085:
Let his GI and Rheumo know on Monday

No that would make more sense
I bug the kid to take his temp with the flushing since I think "sick" high fever etc...
It tends to be normal
On and off temps correspond to being cold or chilled but no flushing then
Weird I know

And the flushing couldn't be due to the flagyl because he finished it, right? C had flushing from an antibiotic once though I can't remember which one. It was odd because it didn't appear at first but after several days, he only had a pill or two left. Doc took him off anyway.

Flushing started well before flagyl and he stopped that wed morning - so not that
Just plain weird
Not itchy no other hives ( and he is a hivey kid)
He will get it if he is outside playing and lasts for hours when he comes in
And it gets really bad in the sun
But those things I understand just not sitting watching tv KWIM

Roscacia? It is an inflammatory condition. Going from extreme temps cold to hot etc could cause it to flare.

Does this occur after eating certain foods? Consider histamine reaction after eating histamine releasing foods. Bananas, citrus, tomatoes, acidic foods etc. Just a thought to ponder.

I don’t know mlp but will just add another couple of thoughts:

Could it be a side effect Humira?

Is there an underlying infection that is being masked by Humira (resulting in no or only slight fever)?

I see you said blood work was normal. Did he have Iron Stores done? Was Ferritin normal?

When his feet and hands are cold are they white or just cold to the touch?

His iron stores -ferritin is up to 68 was 9 a year ago so very good but still on 50 mg iron a day
The flushing is when he has been at a constant temperature for a while
So not rosecea
Not allergy related - he is on a ton of antihistamines daily .

I need to look at his fingers closer after he has been really cold vs just cold in the houses.

The cold fingers and toes could be Raynauds syndrome. I have it and it so fun (not).
Basically your fingers and toes get very cold, they turn white in the middle and they kind of burn with the cold.
The flushing of the face that is one of the things we have been dealing with as well. We noticed it in relation to eating. We have not figured it out yet either.
Possibly some kind of vagal response.
