focusing on the chakras

does anyone focus on the chakras the solar plexus and sacral chakra since thats where the disease is mostly? im interested in focusing on healing it more and am curious to hear from others. so far i have been incorporating more yellow and orange colors into my life, with regards to clothing, crystals, and the foods i eat. also meditating and envisioning good health in those regions and the white bright light of spirit and divinity.

anyone not into chakra healing thinks im nuts right about now lol.

I've never heard of chakra healing, nor do I put much faith in things like that. But we all have our own opinions, and I'm not trying to criticize yours. :)

From my viewpoint, meditation and envisioning good health sound like great stress relievers, which I would think would be beneficial for overall health. Stress can exacerbate Crohn's symptoms, so having an optimistic mindset certainly can't hurt anything. I'm not sure about the colors, but i know I always feel more energized when I'm in a bright environment instead of a dark one.

Can you give more of an explanation about chakra healing? I've never heard of it and the reasoning sounds very interesting. I hope that whatever you do will help you if not Crohn's-wise, at least spirit-wise!

I can't say it better than wikipedia.

"The chakras are described as being aligned in an ascending column from the base of the spine to the top of the head. In New Age practices, each chakra is often associated with a certain color. In various traditions chakras are associated with multiple physiological functions, an aspect of consciousness, a classical element, and other distinguishing characteristics. They are visualized as lotuses/flowers with a different number of petals in every chakra.

The chakras are thought to vitalize the physical body and to be associated with interactions of a physical, emotional and mental nature. They are considered loci of life energy or prana, also called shakti, qi (Chinese; ki in Japanese), kuch-ha-guf[13] (Hebrew), bios (Greek) & aether (Greek, English), which is thought to flow among them along pathways called nadis. The function of the chakras is to spin and draw in this energy to keep the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health of the body in balance.

The New Age movement has led to an increased interest in the West regarding chakras. Many in this movement point to a correspondence between the position and role of the chakras and those of the glands in the endocrine system. These ideas first appear in the writings of theosophical authors like C. W. Leadbeater, who wrote a book on the Chakras.

The seven principal chakras are said by some to reflect how the unified consciousness of humanity (the immortal human being or the soul), is divided to manage different aspects of earthly life (body/instinct/vital energy/deeper emotions/communication/having an overview of life/contact to God). The chakras are placed at differing levels of spiritual subtlety, with Sahasrara at the top being concerned with pure consciousness, and Muladhara at the bottom being concerned with matter, which is seen simply as crudified consciousness."

So essentially healing can take on many forms and is very personal. From focusing your life on the color of the chakra that is blurry and not well. To meditating and reducing stress, being mindful, and a variety of other techniques.

ding - nope, what's that?

abstract - i think the mind is a very powerful tool, and we underestimate it.

Orgone is a composition, first discovered a long time ago, which harnesses energy.. its made of metals, crystals & other things (i'm not an expert on it yet lol).. allegedly, it has the effect, if worn next to the skin, of aligning our chakras and other 'out of balance' energies within our bodies. Orgone was originally invented to enhance orgasms - it has quite an interesting history if anyone wants to look it up - and it was then discovered it has other beneficial properties too.

i don't think it's quite the same.. as far as i know, pure magnet therapy is supposed to 'draw' pain from the body, and people with arthritis & rheumatism often wear magnetic bracelets & pendants. my grandma used to sleep with a large magnet inside the bed covers lol.

here's a link to an Orgone product.. (i just picked this one at random, am not promoting anything :) ) ... http://educate-yourself.org/ww/lillychakrabalancers29jul06.shtml

They're quite pretty. I'd buy one as a piece of art. I'm sceptical about the health benefits though.

I didn't look at the date of the post, so sorry if this a super late reply. But yes! Usually us crohns sufferers have an overactive solar plexus chakra. also what we eat matters. No meat, or dairy products for me.
