Are many people here on the Fodmap diet?
Reason i ask, my doctor gave me the list of what not to eat, it looked complicated. And with my wife being Italian and a cook this is not going to go down fine. Anyway i asked him what he thinks could be the main culprits? Answear was in his years of study its Spices, garlic, Onion, All Beans, Lettuce. So for the last days i have cut these main staples out. And feel 90% good. Maybe a good patch etc. I had a work function 2 days ago and did take one imodium just in case. Now last night at a friends house we had a roast pork loin with all the trimmings and a thick gravy very yummy. Was not till eating the last parts of the roast potatoes carrots punkin that i noticed onion!!!!!!! Was like what do i do? All ready eaten most of it. So i left it. My friends dont know i my stomach issues. Do people go out on the fodmap diet for dinner? Every sunday we order in a Party size Pizza with the lot, and i am not sure whats on it but its full with Every thing. Guarantee to have all the bad things in it. So how do i tell the family its just ham pineapple now? This is going to cauce issues. Ahhh. Cheers

I would get the same pizza as always for everyone else and you can have something different. Maybe get a small one with toppings that work for you, that way nobody else will mind. That's what I would do. You might also ask your wife to make you something else, it sounds as though she likes cooking. I found that being open and honest was the best way for me to cope with the food situations. I had to admit that I couldn't eat certain things that I knew were trouble. Nobody got too upset, if they did it was soon forgotten.

I have a very strict and specific diet and for me the best way to get peace is to prepare everything myself and bring my food everywhere I go. This way, nobody can complain.
