Okay, this is weird.

I've been on Imuran for 6 weeks. And within the last month or so I have developed an aversion to pasta. I used to love pasta, but the taste and the texture--no matter what the sauce--I find so very difficult to eat.

Anyone experience anything like this?

I was on imuran for over a year and never had that. I didn't experience really many side effects on it if any. Sometimes however i just go through spells where stuff grosses me out. Maybe you have a deficiency.

Odd that its only pasta. Probably nothing to worry about but if you start getting more food avaersions I'd mention it to your doctor. I got pancreatiits on Imuran, made me vomit for hours then developed incredible pain, so keep an eye on it and be aware that Imuran is known to cause pancreatits.

I never had that. Maybe its a subconscious thing. If you dont like it then try something else, I dont eat much pasta nowadays as its too filling. Maybe a break will help?

I used to think it was psychosomatic until it got worse.
I used to find potatoes, pasta and beef unpalatable, like I just didn't enjoy eating them.
In time it became where they made me nauseous, and eventually complete motility issues, diarrhea, the full on hardcore crohn's symptoms.

It may be psychosomatic in this person's case, but that's how it started for me.

Hmm this is an interesting topic.. I really never made that connection before but things tend to gross me out a lot more in the past several years than they they used to. Certain foods (that I love), just all of the sudden make me gag and want to throw up... I dont know if its related to the imuran.. Ive been on imuran for years now... but its just interesting to see someone bring this up....

yeah my taste buds changed too... I loved kit kats and now it tastes like something is off about them... and I can tell the difference between hershey's, mars, and nestle chocolate... I really haven't noticed much else... the metal taste I get from time to time is easily taken care of if I have breakfast in the morning or something salty like ham or popcorn...
