I saw this on yahoo headlines. I couldn't really figure out why a difference is important. If you it makes you feel bad you shouldn't eat it.

There is a subtle but important difference between intolerance and allergy. My cousin had a dairy intolerance and eventually she developed an allergy to cheese. When she just had the intolerance, she could eat some dairy and it would just cause bloating, d, cramping, etc. But when the allergy developed, every time she ate cheese her face & neck would swell up and turn red, and her breathing would start to be constricted. If she didn't go to the ER, it could have become life-threatening. So some discomfort vs. possible death - I'd say that's an important difference!

Yes there is a defo a difference, the one between life and death for starters!
An allergy can actually kill, that's the difference!

you can "cure" an intolerance, for example by eating that food but not too must.. like drinking hydrolyzed milk, it still has some proteins and it will make your body accept the protein.
an allergy is for life, there is no cure for it and if you eat/drink that food you might die..so soy milk would be the choice for the ppl with allergy to milk protein.
