I'm on a low-fiber/low residue diet for the past two months and I am gaining a lot of weight. Im not suppose to have a lot of fruits or veggies, so i'm basically eating pastas, bread, and chicken, and cookies.

The only fruit i've consumed is applesauce and bananas.

What fruits are safe for most people? Are any veggies safe for most?

I seriously miss eating healthy and I am not used to carrying around this extra almost 10 pounds...

I'm good with most fruit since my last stricture surgery. I need to be careful with apples. They need to be peeled and diced.

Any veggies I have must be cooked to mush or I'm in pain.

I do good with cooked green beans and butternut squash. I also put raw spinacj in my smoothie. I can eat mangoes and bananas. Also apples that have been peeled.

This may be a very very dumb question,

But does making smoothies or juices with fresh veggies and fruit have no effect on crohns?

I have the opposite problem, I'm trying to gain weight, but I do have to stick to low-fibre.

The fruits and vegetables I do ok with are:

Bananas
Avocados
Very well cooked carrot, broccoli, sprouts - but only in very small quantities
The tins you can get of pasta in tomato sauce (the labeling says they count as a "5 a day" fruit or veg portion)
Smooth vegetable soups
Tinned green beans
Tinned peaches
Tinned pears
Tinned apricots
Mashed swede
Fruit juice with no bits
Pureed apples

I also have trouble gaining weight.

Not sure if your lucky or unlucky. When I get a flare up I have no weight to lose...

I think it's different for everyone, but for me, fresh juice with veggies give me D if I drink alot. A small amount is ok. But the smoothies I make are fine. I blend banana, blueberries, and raw spinach. I also add a little oil to it, in the form of coconut oil, flax seed oil, or avocado.

Most fruits are fine with me though I avoid ones with lots of seeds like berries (strawberries, raspberries) when I'm flaring so they don't irritate my colon during digestion.

I am also okay with many veggies as well except for corn and broccoli which I can't eat anymore as its high fiber content is terribly painful during a flare and incredibly uncomfortable in remission.

I make it a point to stay away from nuts and seeds in general as well as corn kernels at all times when flaring to avoid irritation.

To make sure I was still getting some form of essential nutrients while flaring I would juice most of my veggies so that they would be easier to digest and the fiber would be reduced/eliminated as well as cook them down to the point of mush or puree them.

I thought this, as I was having smoothies on a daily basis to make sure I was getting my fruit and veggie servings for the day. I wasn't having any issues and then I decided to try kale in my smoothies and that thought went away real quick! First off, it was gross and secondly mu belly didn't like it! So in a way it was a win-win! I think it's just different for everyone!
