I was diagnosed with Crohn's in Dec of 2008 and had alot of problems as everybody else does that has the disease, but all of a sudden in the last two months, I have gained 18 pounds so fast, I'm still wondering how the heck it happened and I am hungry all the time which I wasn't like this before. The weight is all around my tummy area and when I put my pants on, the flabby part is starting to poke out around the waisteline of my pants, looking like an extra tire. I am 46 years old, 5' 8" and I did weigh 132 pounds since 2008 and now I weigh 150 pounds. Although I say I am hungry all the time, I do not snack in between meals and I force myself to stay away from the fridge because I don't want to keep gaining. Is this happening to anybody else out there and if so, did you get a diagnosis of some kind? I have not gone to my doctor because I am not employed and have no insurance either. This is really bothering me as I am so self conscience of the way I look. I was so used to having the flat tummy and I notice when I go out in public that people look down at my waist and I am NOT imagining this. Please advise. Thank you:>)

Im sure people arent looking down at your stomach, Watching tv programs theres hell of a lot more people heavier than you in america :p

Im the same height and weigh the same so you cant be that bad, maybe a bit more exercise would help (something that increases your heart rate is needed to lose weight)

With food maybe you should eat when your hungry. By the time you have got your food you most probably over eat to compensate. The body is slow to react when you are full, so if your scoffing it down rather than taking your time you will eat more. Personally I have to small meals a day and snack the rest of the time

No I'm not that bad and my friends keep telling me I still look thin, but it is mental I guess with me. It just really gets the best of me. I was going to start walking and see if that helps any. I appreciate your input.:thumleft:
