Interesting article.
When they talk about "eating dirt" it makes me wonder if that is why Primal Defense Ultra has soil bacteria in it. Maybe they figure it will correct this problem. Probably a little late for us.

Yeah, except we made mud pies, ate dirt, played outside and generally weren't treated like breakable fine porcelain when me and my cousins were kids. I went to the country every weekend till I was 10 or so to spend time with my Dad where there were horses and cows right next door. Not to mention traipsing through the woods helping Dad look for mushrooms and taking trips to the holler in West Virginia and drinking water right out of the spring coming down from the mountainside.

Oh, I forgot about the goat that was at my Dad's workplace that they were using for grass management that I used to pet and feed grass.

Yeah when I was a kid I literally was covered constantly in dirt. I was outside digging holes nonstop. I would eat grass or dirt or whatever on the occasional dare. I would also play soccer where in New Orleans seemed to always mean rain and I would play soccer in the slop. So maybe it is the change from doing that to becoming really clean suddenly because when I was riding my bike in the woods or practicing my rolls for Parkour I would always feel better and that was linked with exercise.

Perhaps fruits and veggies generate different kinds of homeostatic soil organisms within the soil in which they grow compared to soil that grows grass, etc. It's a theory.

I think after all the recent studies, that Crohn's is genetic. If you have the defective genes, and then something triggers it (bacteria, virus, stress, immunizations, bad diet or a combination of all), the vicious cycle starts...
Also note that most of the defective genes they are finding related to Crohn's are also related to the immune system.... So unfortunately for us we have a defective immune system that seems to overreact or underreact in our guts, causing us this Disease...... Let's hope all the reasearch they'e doing leads to a cure.... But unfortunately I think most of the pharmaceutical companies are looking for new ways to find lifelong drugs to give us and make lots of money, instead of finding a cure......... Sorry, I think I ranted a lot.......
