getting worried

well, I've been trying to go along and cope with my gut issues as best as I can. My family are all sooo certain I'm making myself ill and that I've basicaly done this to myself. Which is very frustrating and hurtfull. My Dads crying my sisters crying. They have seen me ill with IBS for a long time and now I may have IBD ontop of it!
I am havin a really tuff time trying to cope. I can only eat rice at the moment but my guts seem to spasm all the time, I'm taking an antispasmodic from the doctor but it doesn't stop it completly. I am just so fed up and sick and tired! I am used to pain. Since having IBS I have allways been getting cramps in my gut, not being able to eat certain foods and vomiting alot! I'm virtually annorexic right now I'm so affraid to eat and sooo hungry all the time!
Sorry for the long post, but I need to know if these cramps are my IBS or the possible Crohns? My gut just spasms no matter what I eat and I get gas and pain and then have to use the bathroom. There's no blood, but lots of mucus. (Sorry to be graphic.) And I get these sharp stabbing pains in my lower right and lower left gut. Which come and go in severity depending on what I eat. I went to the ER with my Dad and they said my blood was slightly high in something so possibly could be crohns. Does it make your gut spasm no matter what you eat? Thanks again, sorry for the long rant. Just sad and overwhelmed. Glad to be able to talk to you guys. Thanks again.

welcome to the forum. dont worry about being graphic, we do graphic here. this is the only place where it seems ok to talk about bowels bottoms and poo, even the colour and shape has been discussed on here!!
stress does make crohns worse, have you a appoinment at the hospital for more tests?

Welcome Littlelost, i am sorry you are struggling so much with things at the moment. Stay on top of the doctors, and make sure they investigate throroughly. I also have had ibs since being younger, and at first they chalked my symptoms up to IBS, and now they are investigating me for an IBD. It is a struggle to know what is what. Sounds like the cramps could be due to either Crohns or IBS, hopefully you can find some answers soon.

Perhaps try some Ensure or Boost, it helps you get some easily digested calories, and is pretty easy on the gut.

Hi Littlelost, I can't remember from your other thread if you have a diagnosis of Crohns?
If so, it doesn't necessarily mean you have Crohn's and IBS as well. Perhaps your IBS symptoms were actually Crohns. I think a lot of people are originally told they have IBS and then it ends up being Crohns. That's what happened to me anyway.

Try and get some calories in. I do understand it is hard to eat. I know I don't eat nearly enough as I worry that it will hurt afterwards. Try even fluids like soup to get your nutrients in?
