Hi all just wondered what people's thoughts are on my situation:
Had a bowel resection in 2011 due to perforation that was misdiagnosed. Was symptom free for about 3 years following this, unmedicated and unmonitored. Then in May 2015 I got bowel spasms so got referred back to GI.
- August 2015 had upper endoscopy which revealed inflammation that they suspected was due to celiacs disease.
- October 2015 had a CT scan, which was entirely normal noting a healthy join where my bowel resection was
- Decembed 2015 had a colonoscopy which showed ulcers at the terminal ileum, the GI could not get the scope into the small bowl and she said it looked withered. Diagnosed with Crohns
- Mid January 2016 start getting constant dull ache on right hand side of stomach
- A week later start 9mg of budesonide. I took this for 2 months and had no effect. Started prednsiolone also no effect on this pain and the cramps. Now tapering the pred and been on azathioprine for a month
I am concerned because this pain on the right hand side started in January after all my tests. I keep thinking if it was just pain associated with inflammation then the steroids would have made a difference. I asked my GI if I could have an MRI scan and she said no, I had a CT scan which showed no abdominal masses and so I can have an MRI scan in a years time to see if I have responded to treatment as part of standard practice.
