I know that technically they say you cannot go back on remicade after stopping it. My last infusion that I had, about 6 years ago, I had an anaphylactic type reaction. Anyway, I haven't noticed much change ont he Tysabri, and if it doesn't start getting better here very quickly, I can't have any more infusions. The infusion nurse was saying that maybe they could dose me with steroids and benadryl and maybe try it again. Has anyone else done this? It's been 6 years, so maybe this wouldn't happen again? Who knows, just a thought.

Someone asked about this before (stopping and starting Remicade) and although not recommended a few people say they have done it successfully.

If they are happy to try it, and so are you then I reckon you should give it a whirl

Thanks! I get one more infusion of Tysabri, if no improvement at that point the TOUCH program will not allow you to continue.

I remembered feeling the "best" on Remicade, so maybe if this doesn't work I can try it again :)

This is actually something I have experience in! I went off Remicade in the summer of 09 because I wasn't seeing the same improvement I had in the past, they had even moved up my dosage to every four weeks, saw a little improvement but not enough. I had never had an allergic reaction to the medicine though. That summer I tried Humaria and saw little to no improvement in fact each time I used the med it stated to burn more and more. So my GI restarted me on Remicade about Oct of 09. They started me out really slow for the first three infusions and after seeing I was not having any allergic responses moved up the infusion speed, it was never quite as fast as before I went off it though. If your GI thinks this is the right move for you and you're willing to do it I'd say go for it. They probably will jack you up on a really high dosage of benadryl though and your first infusion will go pretty slow do I wouldn't advise scheduling anything to soon afterward. Good luck and maybe the Tysabri will end up working in this last infusion you never know!
