Hello everyone!
My name is Hannah and I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and acid reflux in July 2014. I had symptoms for a couple years before I got my diagnosis. When my symptoms began I was roughly 130lbs. Roughly four years later I fluctuate between 105-110lbs. Being 5' 6" I am underweight. I am continuing to lose weight and I would like to make changes. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on gaining weight while maintaining a Crohn's friendly diet? Any advice would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Hannah

ive started eating raw almond butter in large quantity since about 2 months now. This works like magic to me and i have gained weight since that. At least 7-9 pounds and people notice I gain weight. Its delicious heavily spread on a banana.

I'm not sure if you'll find much good advice there though.

A good diet for Crohn's usually doesn't conflict with a good diet for weight gain. Often people with Crohn's have problems with fibre, so they need to avoid many fruits, vegetables and whole grain cereals, which aren't needed for weight gain. In order to get vitamins (and extra calories) in, supplements like Ensure and Fortisip can be helpful.

Welcome to the forum!

A critical step for many to stop (and reverse) weight loss is getting their disease under control. Do you have active disease right now? Any raised inflammatory markers, scans or symptoms suggesting this?

Also what are your current treatments? And have you implemented any dietary restrictions because of your Crohn's?

I agree with UnXmas that supplement drinks can often be helpful - whether your dietary restrictions are due to symptoms of active disease or limitations from complications like strictures.

I hope the forum helps you! I think it's a great place for support and advice and to connect with people with similar experiences!
