Grandma With Crohn's

I am 60 years old and have Crohn's for 26 years. I have tried every medicine..
my daughter, 26, also has Crohn's and is on Humira.... she will be getting married and I am worried about being on Humira - when she desires to get pregant? She is having some hair loss? And very very very tired..she is a teacher and gets every flu bug that comes along.

Hey Kay.. Welcome to the forum. After trying every medicine, have you found one that works? We've got a number of members who've been on Humira, and still are.. I dunno about the implications of being pregnant AND on humira. I'm not on it, and I'm male. Just a guess, but I think it's safer to come off of Humira than it is Remicade... so it may be possible if Humira rules out getting pregnant for her to go off it for a while... have a baby, then resume taking it. Anyone who has some 'hard' facts on this IS more than welcome to toss their 2 cents in, OK?

i know very little about humira, and even less about the pregancy risks whilst taking it. i would, however, recommend that your daughter have an in-depth discussion with her consultant about this. i'm sure he/she will have experience with other patients on that medication who wish to have a child.
