And I'm beginning to wonder.....very little comes out but the big D. I woulda thought that the 6MP wouldve sorted that??

But...I am gaining 2 pounds almost daily!! And I'm NOT eating that much. Yes, even over Christmas.

I'm no longer on pred so thats not it. HUGE belly too!

Is it time for some Movicol?? Shall I alert the authorities in case the house explodes???????????

try some belly rubs and do the Bikram yoga "wind removing pose" - google it. Works like a charm to "move" things within.

Big hugs hun.
Cant offer you any advice but as you know from my thread, I do sympathise.
Could you be retaining water? Its the only thing I can think of but since you have got Stan is that not an issue?
Sorry about my ignorance.

Mickey honey, it aint wind, I wish it was. I have given myself belly rubs, I'm very experienced at that. (dogs and cats...belly rubs are goooood) As for yoga, the parastomal hernia (his name is Ollie) doesnt like that, but yes, I need excercise.

I'm looking into a no gluten, no sugar diet...again. I have also ordered some serious pro biotics. Clear the room ladies and gentlemen...I'm gonna blow.

I could be retaining alcohol??? No, it started before the holidays. Sigh.

I am gonna start the gluten free diet to be honest. After I've removed Dunstable from the map with Movicol. It's no loss, Dunstable, really. As for water retention, its a thought. Its after I started 6MP, but there isnt any info on that on the web??? Or here?? I actually have little appetite. And yet...I'm growing. Now, if I was growing in height, that'd be ok. No..instead for the first time my body is determined to be wider than tall...but only in the GUT region!!

The wind removing pose doesn't exactly make you break wind. It is massaging the ascending and descending colon in its movements and it will move things within and keep the blood circulating. It is a healthy compression exercise.

Have you had bloods drawn lately Misty? Maybe there is an imbalance that is causing the problem.

since you should be on the floor/flat surface and laying down, I do hope you do not fall down and go boom! lol! toot, but not boom!

I don't think it would hurt to have your TFT's (thyroid) done.

Aside from a full blood count make sure they do Liver Function tests, Urea, Creatinine and Electrolytes. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to do B12, Iron Stores, Folate and Vit D while your at it. Whats another couple of vials! After it you'll likely weigh less too! :eek2:

Hi Misty,
You still there? I didnt hear any loud bangs or explosions last night!
Hope you can get to the docs/hospital and get your bloods done.
Sending you lots of hugs(not too tight)

Hey Sharon, I'm still here. Sadly, so is Dunstable. I just started the movicol this morning. I didnt want an explosion in the middle of the night! I figure it's safer for all concerned that way. So far....nothing. Another sachet at
1pm I think.

As for blood work....sheez, I cant get the Dr's office to answer their phones, let alone get in for blood tests readily. As I type...I've been on hold for 15 min waiting for a receptionist.

Hope the movicol helps Misty. It could be a combination of the meds that are causing your body to change the way it deals with calories or as has been said it could indeed be worth getting some checks in at the doc once the Xmas/New Year chaos has passed us all by.

I hope something helps!

Gav :)

Misty- I experienced something similar on 6mp. The weight gain was scary. The weight gain decreases but when I stopped 6mp....Niagra Falls look out. I pee'd a lot. I do this with Prednisone, too. Running to the potty every 30 minutes or so. I really think you need to get the blood work. Yep, what Gav said...

Wendy

My bloods are gonna be checked on the 5th of Jan. And I will ring my IBD nurse when she's back on the 3rd to let her know. I had shown her my belly in November and she was taken aback. It's HUGE.

Something is definetely not right.

Hang on.....looking for my special pin........found it!!!!
Aw hope you get some relief soon hun.

Thanks luv. I'll be fine, dont worry. Tough as old boots I am.

Nothing a bit of tummy tucking wont fix!

Oh dear!! How much did you put on and how fast? I swear I just need to LOOK at food and I put a pound on! And then you say it decreased? How long did that take? Funny, pred usually makes me put weight on after I stop taking it. (hmmmm...been off it 2 months now)

I can live with peeing. I just blame it on my age...and people nod and frown in understanding...hilarious actually this being middle aged...NOT!!

Bit late with this thread, had you been constipated before you had started the D, if so it could be overflow...but less likely as you have Stan.
I guess movicol will be gentle enough that if it isn't overflow then it won't make things worse. Be warned can make some people very 'windy' so you may have dunstable and a wind farm in there. Hope it settles soon. Is your IBD nurse off all of the festive season...is there only one?
Hope it doesn't spoil your new year celebrations.

:))

"some people very 'windy' so you may have dunstable and a wind farm in there"

Ah...but I live by 'Blows Downs' so no one will notice! :ylol: No so far so good on the movicol. Nothing serious or no big blow outs. Only my sigmoid colon is gone, so I've got almost all of my colon. More than enough to cause trouble anyway!

I have had diarrea, but not enough is coming out. I'm a bit worried about strictures. No, theres only one IBD nurse.
