Growling & Gurgling & Pain When Urinating

Everything I eat makes my stomach growl and gurgle very loudly.

Everyone can hear it.

Does this happen to you?

I have been experiencing lower left abdominal pain when I urinate. It's in the same place as the pain is when you have an attack.

Btw, I'm undiagnosed....

I'm worried because I basically don't eat much anymore. It helps keep the pain to a minimum. I'm losing weight. I don't have health insurance yet. I'm miserable :(

When I'm in a flaring my tum grumbles non-stop. It's a occasionally noisy when things are all cool.
But for me when it's active it can be heard across the room.

You poor thing. Are you able to drink Ensure/Boost or things like that? At least that way you get some calories, and it might be a little easier on your system.

I'm also undiagnosed, and my pain is usually on the lower right, but yes - I get the gurgly guts big time too. I just tapered from 9 mg to 6 mg of Entocort, which appears to have caused a flare, and the past few days my guts have been very loud. Even if I just drink water, there are some loud crazy noises coming from my abdomen!

Are there any free clinics near you that you could go to? Or is there a way you could get a prescription for something relatively cheap like pred? It sounds like you need to get looked at if you're not able to eat. Good luck, sweetie, I hope you get some relief soon.

Thanks Cat. We are getting ready to move soon to go to seminary school down south. I will just have to wait to get health insurance again. I wish someone would just take me on as research and find out what's wrong with me.

I will pick up the Ensure/Boost stuff. I forgot about that, thanks!

Can I live on that stuff for awhile?

I don't know why it hurts there when I pee. It hurts just to sit. It's that place where you get the colon attacks in the lower left side. Ouch! :(

I've spent weeks living off of Ensure, gatorade and the occasional bowl of noodles. it isn't ideal but it will keep you going.

As far as things hurting it might be the movement of the stomache muscles causing your intestines to move. I know there are certain positions I can't sit in when I'm in rough shape, and I completely stop trying to lay on my side.

My stomach has done the same for years even though I was just recently diagnosed, it was extremely embarrassing and people always told me to eat cause they thought I was starving myself, It's part of the reason I decided to home school. It must have something to do with Crohn's, although, you said you were undiagnosed, you may not have Crohn's. Also this is my first flare and at first it hurt for me to urinate too. I'm no doctor, but I'm guessing it hurts because when your bladder is full it might be pushing on the inflamed parts of the intestine. My theory. What I do to prevent it is just go to the bathroom even if I don't feel like I need to pee yet.

About the Ensure and Boost, that would be a good idea and you can live off them for awhile but you should really still try to eat food you can handle. So just try the ensure and get checked out when you can!

Don't worry, mine does it too. REALLY loudly!! Ensure is good, i'm easing myself into a complete liquid diet. but it really is much easier on the gut.

Check out the other forum ( not sure which one lmao either support or treatment)
I just replied to a thread exactly the same as yours!
It seems like most with ibd or inflamed areas of the digestive system ( anywhere) suffer with the gurgles or should I say it sounds like the honey monster eating his cereal in my intestines lol because where your inflamed the waste cannot be absorbed or very little so it pushes past causing noises and pain that's my theory anyway hope it helps

My belly talks almost...almost more than I do! When I was trying to stay away from meds, I saw a homeopath in London who suggested Chamomile and Peppermint teas. They are very soothing to the system and helped alot (I've been dx w/ cd for 33 years). Note: Chamomile is a diuretic, peppermint helps bind you up, so balance is important.

Good luck and see a doc as soon as you can!
