had my colonoscopy

Just to let you know that I had the dreaded colonoscopy yesterday and
he has found seven ulcers at the same place as I had the op last year.
He also said I have divertcolitis whatever that is I havent looked it up yet
but I am finding it hard enough coping witn the crohns without something
else.He has done a lot of biopsies which he will give me the results of when
I see him in January. It was very painful this time even though I was
sedated and I had to ask him to stop at one point which he did,to be fair he did move back cause he said after he thought I was going to thump him.Hhad the upper hand really with where he had shoved his tube. The outcome at the
moment is I am on another lot of steroids and when I see him next he is
going to start me on azathioprine and hopefully I will be able to avoid
another op,fingers crossed.I have also started on the anti depressants
which I think are making me a bit calmer about everything but I'm not
sleeping and I have had a vile headache for two days and I don't usually
suffer with them.Is it the pills do you think?Any clues anyone?
At least I am getting some help now medically so it's not all bad lets
hope it starts to work cause this diarroea is driving me nuts it's never
ending.
To top it all it's snowing like crazy and has been all day and most of the
night now really snowed in ...
I have done nothing but moan today but I feel better for it,thanks guys
and hope you all keep well. x x

Do you mean diverticulosis? That's something to do with little pockets forming in your colon, which then fill with fecal matter and get infected.

As for the headaches, they could be from the pills, I know someone else who had that side effect on antidepressants. If you can, I would give it a few days to see if it settles doen, if not or it gets too bad talk to your doctor, they should be able to change your pills.

And try building a snowman or having a snowball fight- I did and it cheered me up no end!

Thanks for that it's actually easing off a bit now but I will do that. Not sure about
the snowman cause I can't stay out of the loo long enough.I would get all bundled
up and then have to unbundle every five minutes.Might try tomorrow.Have you got
it bad where you are? I had my two ops in Kings Mill Hospital it's a lovely place.Don't
want to go back though.
That was what I meant the divert thingy but I spelt it wrong sorry.I had heard it
mentioned somewhere but I did'nt know what it was.these things that keep cropping
up are quite scary and there is always something with this horrible desease.Having
said that when I read what other people are going through a lot younger than me my
heart goes out to them.x

Ha ha it was disgusting but where can I order a pair and do they do em in small cause
I have lost a lot of weight......ugh can you imagine........x
