Hair loss? Side effect of humira?

Hey,
I have been on humira for almost 2 yrs now. I also started Pentasa same time. I have been loosing my hair. It is horriable, it just keeps falling out. Has anyone else ever had this on humira? I am afraid im gonna go bald.

It's a side effect of pentasa. Could also be malnutrition, but unlikely to be Humira.

When my hair was falling out, it really helped to use TreSemme anti-breakage shampoo. I am sure any other anti-breakage brand would work. It started working almost immediately for me.

Can be due to low iron levels as well. Although I don't have Crohns and am not on medications, I noticed my hair was thinning and falling out!! My doctor tested my iron, it was quite low and doctor recommended iron supplements. It's been a few months, while I can't say it's 'thicker' yet, I have noticed a considerable reduction in the amount of hair falling out.

I've also heard read here from others that biotin can help but have never tried it.

Ya i had my iron level and its low, ive been taking iron and ive tried biotin. I went to a derm doc and he never got back to me on what I should do (yet again another doctor who doesnt give a crap!!!). He said that it is probably from my meds but i started a bunch all at once so it would be hard to know which one. He said only way to find out would be to stop taking each med which I can't do I guess im stuck!!
