Hi all,

This is my first post here, so please be patient with me if I screw up the formatting or am posting this in the wrong place...

I am about to move to the San Francisco bay area for a new job, which means new health insurance... I have the option between Kaiser Permanente and HealthNet. I was wondering if anybody on this forum has personal experience, positive or negative, dealing with either, and which insurance you'd recommend in general. I take Humira, and my greatest concern is the difficulty for acquiring an Rx and getting the Humira delivered. I will be bringing a single month supply with me, and my health insurance will kick in 20 days after I start, but apply retroactively for the first day... in other words, I have a month of breathing room. :)

Also, for the heck of it, if anyone has advice on dealing with Crohn's moving to a new place altogether, I'd really appreciate that as well... I've done a lot of moving for undergrad and grad school, but maybe you guys have some secret tips.

Hi Smeegul,
I have Kaiser, and I am quite satisfied with the care I have gotten. I have been with Kaiser since 2001, and I was diagnosed in 2009. Relative to most, I was diagnosed pretty quickly, and I have never had any trouble getting things covered. To be fair, I am in Georgia, so there may be some differences, but the underlying model is, I think, the same.
Good luck!
Laura
