Hi all,

I am from Cairo, Egypt, one of the most hot spots on the news these days as you all may have noticed.

I was diagnosed with crohns in 2001 after a three month war with our inexperienced medical system in Egypt (at least at the time). I had to travel to Europe to get properly tested and have my first of two operations removing blockages in my lower intestines.

My experience wasn't the most fun, but I guess none of our was, but I guess I have learned to adapt and live with the disease as part of my lifestyle. Most of my recent days have been trouble free, except for the days when the stress kicks in and the ulcers start hitting me.

I hope I can learn from you guys who have been facing my same troubles and hopefully be of added value to our group in general based n my personal experience as well.

Looking forward to talking with all

Haytham

:welcome: to the forum! Yes indeed your country is full of mayhem at the moment and yes the world is watching. Stress is in MY opinion a major thing in keeping the disease active. It doesn't cause the disease but stress aggrivates your system and is causing havoc. I am assuming your country isnt heavily struck with this disease and therefore lack of knowledge and experience from doctors, you can slip through the cracks.

There is a wealth of information here, hope you continue to check out the site and ask any questions, we will help the best of our ability and experience. Welcome aboard!

Hi Haythem.
Welcome to the forum.
I have to say the people of Egypt have conducted themselves with passion and dignity and the whole democratic world has been rooting for them. Congrats on a peaceful revolution and good luck for a happy peaceful (and healthy) future!!

Hello Haytham and welcome to the Forum! :)

I have been watching CNN news day and night.
You should be so proud of the people of Cairo who
most certainly know how to demonstrate peacefully.

I'm sure you will learn a lot here and so shall we as
we get to know you more.

Relax and wonder the different forums...
If you have any questions someone is usually close by.

Hugs~Nancy

Welcome!

Marhaba haythem ezayik? Ana Nadia wa aysha bi Europa atmana ino laetee yelag hina. :welcome: and PM me if you want to talk I also have Crohns

Welcome Haytham!
Yes, I think just about everyone I know has been glued to CNN or Fox News regarding the situation on your part of our lovely rock!
Have improvements been made with the care you can readily receive in Egypt? I have often thought about how one would deal with this horrible illness without medical care readily available. I have a friend that lives in a very remote area & she has to fly to another state to see a gastro!
Well, I really just wanted to say hi & welcome.
Michele

Can you recommend any Crohn's disease specialists or any expert gastroenterologists in Egypt?
