Hello everyone,

I initially made this account last year but I never posted, I have now decided that I'd like to be more plugged into the crohns community. I will overview my crohns journey so far:

May 2006 - diagnosed with crohns (age: 17)

Later in 2007 - stricture, so on a rountine of prednisone for a month (had to do faster than normal tappering due to the fact that prednisone caused my heart rate to beat very fast)

Oct 2009 - Started Humira. Stopped after 2 months, never conclusive however, I do personally believe that humira was causing me to have panic attacks / anxiety attacks. Stopped due to this.

2011 (moved to Japan for work)

2009-2012

Current pill regime:

Pentasa 4 mg daily (4x 500mg morning, 4x 500mg night)
Folic Acid
Acidphex (reduce stomach acid)
Azasan 1 75 mg (morning)

I am currently in the process of looking for a GI doctor in Japan as I have recently extended my stay here.

Hello and welcome back to the forum :) How are you doing on your current treatment regime? Are you looking for a GI because you are having problems or is this a just in case thing?

Hope to hear that things are well.

Welcome to the forum! I'm so glad you decided to finally interact with us :)

When you have your next doctor's appointment, will you do me a HUGE favor and find out what the reference range for seum vitamin B12 levels are in Japan? It has been a bit of a debate in some circles here :)

With that said, again, welcome :) We're here for you anytime you need us.

All my best to you.

Hello, I am doing fairly well. Recently however, I have had some crohns pain (tightness, crampy, feeling on my right side). My appetite hasn't changed, and the form of my bowl movements are solid and good shaped. But still of course bugs me. I did go on a clear diet for 2 days which may have helped, not really sure...

As far as my regime, I go in for 3-4 months to due the regular blood-test (that your supposed to get for Azasan), but other than that I don't have a doctor here in Japan... Since I have extended my stay here by at least another year I believe its time to look towards finding a local doctor here... (I have a doctor back in the states but alas not much she can do for me here... Other than look at my blood test results...).

Hello!
May I ask if you are Japanese? I've meet many people with Crohn's Disease, but I've not know anyone who is Asian that has Crohn's.

Your right, crohns is really rare in Japan, and actually I am American, I just moved here for work for now.

Not sure if your interested, but if you are, Ill take a picture of one of my blood test results in Japan, with some translations on the side, so you can compare the various different ranges. Just let me know.
