Here We Go Again...

Yup...another flare up is upon me. They seem to be getting closer together now. I had an episode the beginning of July and was off work until August 2. I don't think I should have gone back to work but I couldn't get more medical to stay off work. So, another episode and now I'm off work again.

I got my bloodwork results back from Friday and my B12 is still really low (after taking pills for 1 month) my iron is low, my red blood cells are in hyper drive and my white blood cell count is elevated.

I ended up with a fever last night but it appears to be gone now. Anyone else experience fever with an episode? This is a first for me. Anyone experience an increase in headaches?

I'm sure my work isn't impressed but I don't know what else to do. The episode started when I was at work. How embarrassing!!!

Are you going to the doctor or having more tests done soon? It looks like you're not on any Crohn's meds right now and haven't gotten a firm diagnosis, so I'm not sure if your doctors are comfortable with putting you on meds right now before your diagnosis is confirmed. My GI is hesitant to put me on meds as well because I'm also undiagnosed, but he has put me on prednisone for short periods of time, and Entocort for a longer period of time. At any rate, call your doctor ASAP and let them know what's going on and ask what can be done. You shouldn't have to suffer like this, and if you're close to a diagnosis then they will hopefully give you some medication to help end the flare. At the very least they'll probably want to give you a B12 injection if your B12 is still so low.

With regards to your questions about symptoms, I never seem to get a fever when I flare but I do get feverish symptoms like chills and night sweats. Whenever I take my temp it's either normal or a little below normal though, I'm not sure what's up with that because it feels like I should have a fever when I'm flaring! I do get more headaches when I flare, including migraines. In fact, I never had migraines up until I became ill, then I started getting them fairly regularly. So I have no doubt that my headaches & migraines are tied in to my gut illness.

I do experience fevers when I flare. For me, meds usually cause my headaches.

I am sorry you are in another flare. It is very upsetting to think you are doing better, but then get sick again.

I do tend to run a little bit warmer when I have a bad flare; I have read others to have fevers, as well.

I sure hope you can get answers and treatment, so you can start to feel better soon!

Yeah, count me in!
Terrible headache, and my GP has told me today my white cells are high and CRP is now 33 from 10, so I might be in a flare.
But... I don't feel feverish, but I feel like I've got flu!
Have I mentioned to anyone lately.......
That I have a bloody headache!!!
