Hi all x
Saw my gi yesterday he took me off asacol an put me on pentasa 2g sachets 1x a day.
Still on budesonide 9mg gonna reduce to 6 tomorrow.
Will I get side effects with coming off entocort? Can I just stop them an get on with pentasa?
What side effects will I get off pentasa etc ?
Fed up of meds lol
I'm really well ATM still tired slot though any advice wiv that ?

Entocort is a steroid, the body gets used to it so you must wean slowly, then your body can get used to working without it slowly. You must never stop suddenly, unless you've only been on it a few days, because you could be very ill!

Pentasa is very mild and rarely gives side effects, especially as you've tried Asacol which is the same med in a different form.

Rebecca is right on the money. You need to slowly come off of Entocort; you should not stop abruptly. Also, I think you'll do fine on Pentasa. It is very mild.

I hope this change up in meds is just what you needed!
