So DS 's blood numbers look good except his absolute eosinophils keeps rising every month.
With the last three plus years of bloodwork he has never been this high even during pollen season.

0.4xE9 April
0.6XE9 end of April
0.8xE9 end of May

Above 0.6 is high per re fence range
His normal is 0.1 -0.2 during allergy season.

I may leave a call for the allergist to make allergy aware since Gi ordered the blood work.
Anyone else have rising numbers ???

No issues here mlp.

I know that they are normally associated with allergies but since they are pro inflammatory could the elevation in fact be related to his acute joint issues?

Grace's is climbing but not as high as yours.
Does his allergies/asthma seem to be getting worse as he ages?

But Ms Dusty does bring up a point. Grace's JIA is still not in remission and her eos numbers have been raising.

Notified allergist - will leave the message for Rheumo as well
Allergies-asthma are fine as they have been no changes ....
Hoping for allergies not joints :(

Dusty or mlp is there any studies that talk about blood eos being used as inflammatory markers?

I haven’t really looked into that Fw. I have read in the past that eosinophils have been observed to be raised in some patients with acute arthritis and some of the autoimmune type arthropathies. So not so much a marker as an observed anomaly.

I hope it’s not too mlp. :( :ghug:

Allergist is not too concerned at this point but does want to keep an eye on it.
So hopefully just allergies and it calms down before next blood draw.
I think as long as its below 1.5 then it can be just allergies /asthma.

My son's eosinophils were high the last few blood draws. We are assuming allergies at this point and not taking any action yet.
