I got home yesterday from surgery on Nov. 17. I was suppose to have about a foot removed, but after the surgeon got in there he decided that it would be better to do another strictureplasty on the diseased area.

My recovery was slow because my bowels didn't want to "wake up". Now I'm on a full liquid diet until Monday when I go to see the surgeon. But, it's Thanksgiving here and I am having mashed potatoes and gravy....
But, I am feeling 150% better than a week ago......

I hope they did what was right, I REALLY don't want another surgery!

I have a question, has anyone had a colonoscopy 3-4 weeks after to "check and make sure everything is working right"?

Thanks for all the great support and have a wonderful day!

It's good to see you Linda!
Hope you're on the road to recovery and remission too! And no more surgery.
Take care

Hi Linda! Welcome home. Glad it all went well and hope it helps tons!

(And I hope those mashed potatoes went down easy!)

I've never had a colonoscopy after surgery, but my first two surgeries were to remove strictures higher up in my small bowel. I didn't have a strictureplasty, though, so maybe it's standard procedure to make sure everything's working right after one of those. It's probably a good sign that your doc is cautious and likes to double-check, but I'm sorry you have to go through another prep!!
