Hello ormsklad, This is silvermist. You are a babe in the woods. Lets help you over this huge hole that your in. I take Asacol, imuran. I was once like you. Only the bus hit me and backed up over me to hit me again, to put it mildly. I got started with 200 mgs. Enocort is an inflamtory drug, it helps with the inflaming that you have. You'll take them until your doc is sure your not inflamed, that means all of them. Plus you'll be taking the imuran for the rest of your life. They'll up your dosage to 400 mgs, 9 pills a day. They may put you on Azathioprine 50 mgs twice a day with your imuran. You start eventual feeling just a little bit better not much but you will. I've had crohns now for 4 yrs. Your going to have to start eating different than what your use too. It's a trial and err sort of thing. There is no cure for what we have, which suck's. But at least you've decided to come into good company, who will help you with any kind of question that you have. We're all here to help in someway or another. So your not alone. Trust in yourself and others. I hope you are well and in your wellness we'll talk again. Silvermist.

Well said Silvermist. Entocort is a mild to moderate drug, doesnt always work the charm like Prednisone does but best to avoid pred at all costs. Imuran suppresses the immune system I got a reaction from Imuran and 6mp. It affects the liver. Did they check your liver function?

They check everything when I go in to have blood work done. When my doctors happy then I know I'm doing good. I've only had him call my home once to let me know that I had to go to the hospital. Scared the **** out of me. I went and come to find out it was my heart. Still even that scared the **** out of me. He said better safe than sorry. But I don't seem to have any problem with asacol.

As far as I know they don't. But you'll get use to it. I promise you. If you have any questions, talk to me or someone else. We're all here to help. Silvermist. By the way, have you started your sweats yet?
