Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and figured I'd give it a go. I'm 18 years old and was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease about 2.5 years ago. The only success I've had is on high dosages of prednisone after going through several medications. I started Humira about two weeks ago doing the four loading dosages and then two more three days ago. I haven't seen any relief after my doctor told me it should work pretty quick. I'm just curious how long it will take because I'm experiencing a bad flare at the moment. Thanks for your help

Humira took 3-5 months to start working for Ds .
Much longer than remicade which took 7-8 weeks total .
Once it started working it was fine
Good luck

Hi! Welcome to the forum!

Are you currently on pred to control the flare while you wait for the Humira to get to therapeutic levels? Enteral nutrition is another fast acting treatment that can be used to bridge the gap.

Hope you're feeling better soon

I was wondering the same thing when I first started it! I think it's different for each person because I started with my first 4 pens two weeks ago (second dose is today!) and I can already tell there has been an improvement. I hope it works for you!

It worked within a few days at starting to close my fistulas.

These biologics never work on my regular crohn's symptoms, only on my fistulas. I use Asacol and MMJ to control the basic inflamation. Lomotil to slow down my bowels on days i dont already take Tramadol for pain (which also slows down my bowels).
