Hi.

Im back in london on the 15th its looking very much like Humira is going to be stopped after that date.I had slightly raised BP on Infiximab but ive noticed a day after my injection the BP is going upto 190/124 190/144.As the weeks carry on the BP seems to drop slightly just before the next jab is due.

Was wondering does this pattern seem familiar?

The 2 blood pressure tablets appear to be doing nothing at the moment im pretty gutted all in all because ive had another GI bleed 5 in 4 weeks and a massive increase in GI symptoms.

Seems like Humira is a possible cause for high blood pressure. I haven't experienced that myself though since I have a heart condition and it tends to be on the low side in general. What other options has your GI suggested? What other meds have you taken and did any of them also affect your BP (besides Remicade for instance Entocort, Asacol, and 6MP just to name a few)?

hello
Back in April they thought the 100mg of pred was causing some heart problems was taken into the heart unit when the steriods started to drop it helped the heart a great deal and was the reason they decided on humira then.Im also taking 100mg of Thalidomide on 1000mg of pentasa.

it was such a shame about the infliximab I felt fine on it but for some reason started getting growths on the face and they linked it with the infliximab

Ya I can't take Prednisone either cause it messes with my BP too much. Whenever I need steroids I take Entocort instead. Are you able to take it?

never tried it.
at the moment im back on the pred its the only thing stopping the bleeding.
When I see the doctor on the 15th will 100% ask about Entocort

thank you :)

No problem. It doesn't work as quickly as Prednisone but definitely has less side effects and didn't affect my BP at all.
