Hi all - I have been reading this forum for a while and finally decided to come forward with my own question.
I was diagnosed with moderate to severe Crohn's in 2005 and the only thing that could get me under control was Remicade. Unfortunately, after a few years, it lost it's effectiveness and I was transitioned over to Humira.
I've been on Humira for nearly four years with great results -- up until recently. It's like in the past few months it just STOPPED working. I've had horrible pain almost every day. Recently, I got bumped up to taking a 40mg dose every week and yet I still had a massive flare. 50mg of Prednisone is just barely keeping me in check.
I have a colonoscopy scheduled in a few days and I'm hoping to get some answers there but wanted to see if anyone has had this type of experience? Of the Humira quitting on you after a while? I'm wondering if maybe I could switch over to Cimzia - has anyone transitioned from Humira to Cimzia, and if so, how was it?
I had my Crohn's under control for so long and in the past few months it feels like it's just ruined my life.
