Humira not working- looking for new options

I've been on Humira since October 2010, and it just isn't working. The only time I had any relief on it is when I was on methotrexate as well. I wish I could handle the side effects for the methotrexate since it worked great for my Crohn's, but the side effects for me, constant nausea and beyond exhaustion, were too much.

So I've done remicade, it stopped working, plus I get a bad reaction to it. I did well on immuran, but then had liver issues and had to stop it. I did the 5 ASA drugs, and they didn't work. I've also had 2 bowel resections, and at this point, I don't want any more surgery (not that I'm currently a candidate).

I saw my GI today. He's referring me to the practice's doctor who handles drug trials. I probably won't try Tysabri. And the idea of LDN scares me, because if I end up with another obstruction I want pain relief.

So I'm wondering if there is anything I haven't tried yet.

And you're afraid the opiate inhibitor factor of LDN will be an issue? Here's a thought, try LDN. If it works, great. If pain from an obstruction should crop up (but if LDN does the trick, there shouldn't be any active disease to obstruct you), then stop the LDN until the obstruction is taken care of. Or look for pain relief from something non opiate based. That's my thought.... stop the disease in its tracks, then deal with anything else that may come up IF/WHEN it does. The longer it takes to stop the Crohns, the more damage it can do.
