Humira-Prometheus ® Anser™ ADA test

D's doctor just ordered the Prometheus ® Anser™ ADA test to figure out if Humira is working for her or not. ( I suspect a no given her latest conditions) Has anyone had this test? I commented on a thread in the Humira section where only 1 person mentioned it. Hopefully some adults can give me some experience with its results, but I am also curious to know, anyone's kid have this test?

I believe it's similar to the test done to check remicade levels. Should tell you if she is at a therapeutic level with Humira and if antibodies are present.

Stephen had this test twice for remicade. Both, immediately before his infusion (ie, once the day before infusion and the next time, the morning of the infusion) - was her test done just before her next Humira injection? The first test showed no levels of remicade nor of antibodies, so his schedule was moved up to six weeks, instead of eight. The next test showed adequate levels of remicade and still no antibodies.

While I don't know this for certain, I imagine the thought process is that if she is shows insufficient levels of humira with no antibodies, they will increase her humira (either in dosage or frequency??). If she shows adequate levels of humira but no antibodies, then I'm guessing that means it's not working for her. If she shows levels of antibodies, then, again, guessing ONLY, that it could be the antibodies blocking humira's effectiveness - not sure what the solution is for this in Humira's case??

We've had this test done for Remicade too - twice. Both times M had no anti-bodies. The first time she didn't have enough Remicade in her, so we increased the dose and then later the frequency.
I believe the Humira test is newer. Is D doing weekly Humira shots? Both my daughters had to do weekly shots before we saw any benefit at all.

Oh now I feel silly... This is the same test she had when she was on Remicade, just now for adalimumab. when I googled it and see it is the same company. D tested positive for the antibodies for Remicade. Funny part was that we did the test the same exact infusion she had her reaction to the Remicade and went into anaphylaxis shock. Because of her reaction to the Remicade, I am not willing to up her Humira unless I know it is/can do something for her. Very soon after doubling up was when she had the reaction so I don't want to give her meds that potentially do the same thing to her. Anaphylaxis shock is scary. D has had it twice and they are memories I wish I could erase from my mind.

Now I won't be so concerned over this test.

My daughter has jejunal Crohn's disease and had this test to check her Humira level. She had it done last Thursday (a week yesterday). What is the turn around time for this test? Thank you so much for your guidance and input.

Koothie it can be 7 to 14 days for turn around on the test.

Our last one was a year ago and it seems it took about a week for it to come back. This was for remicade but same company as far as testing levels and antibodies.

This is the first time my daughter is having this test, to check her Humira level. Is there an incubation time for the blood sample? I don't know too much about it. I have Crohn's and PsA and take Remicade. I haven't had this test. Thank you again for your guidance and help!

The test has to be sent from where ever you had the blood drawn to a special lab there is one in California which does the test
This is why it takes at least a week for results.

I think the results took a little over a week but not much

We haven't had a reason to test antibodies yet, but we have started monitoring the blood level of Humira in his system. Insurance might cover that and as a first check anyway.
