Well starting on humira tomorrow got everything crossed it will help the pain and all the other niggling little problems I've been having especially the funny poo's and leakage see how I go

Good luck Ozboz! :D Let us know how it goes. Be sure to have some Benadryl or something at home.

Good luck! I had very positive results from Humira when I was on it, I hope you get the same!

I think its similar to when you get a remicade infusion, its good to have on hand in case you start having an allergic reaction to the injection. Although I am not sure if you take it before you give yourself the injection or if you wait until you notice an adverse reaction. Crabby, thoughts on this?

Benadryl is an antihistamine that could help if you had any mild reactions such as in my case I got a small itchy red welt at the injection site but it went away after taking Benadryl. Benadryl wont work for any major reactions though like a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the throat, then you'd want to go to the ER. Not saying any of that will happen though. ;)

Well with Remicade you're given an antihistamine about 30 minutes before the infusion. I didn't have to do that with Humira though. I just took it if I did have a reaction. You can also take an antihistamine with Remicade as well if you have a minor reaction such as any minor itchy. Any reactions even small should be reported to your doctor though.

I had humira bout 2-3 years ago and never had any reactions then and not going to have any now it's gonna be all good

Hi started humira on Monday and my stomach already feels better maybe because the worry of injecting has gone but I had no reaction to it just a bruise on my tummy hope it works for you x

Glad the loading dose has gone well for both of you Ozboz and Chicken1983!

Wondering what to expect for the loading dose. Was it done in your stomach and thighs? Pain level?

well today I have heaps of gas and all this stuff coming out also got alot of discomfort and pain in my backside but thats where most of my inflamation is so thinking stuff is starting to heal and it's just my body pooping all the syuff out that was syuck there with all the inflammation and scarring will see how things progress also having alot of straining after gas and the runny mucussy stools we'll see how it goes.

Admitedley I did eat some stuff I probably shouldn't of

My loading dose was one in each leg (thigh) and one either side of my belly button. I was terrified but honestly it was so much easier and not as painful my stomach pain has settled right down still uncomfortable but I can deal with that after only 3days of humira x I prefered the injections in my leg it hurt in my stomach but I did find Emla cream which numbs the site so I might try that next time. After the first injection it's a breeze just not knowing what to expect it stings a tiny bit going in but goes in the 10 secs. Xxxx wishing you luck xxx
