Does anybody else get a hunger feeling for a week to a week and a half after being infused. I mean like wanted to eat everything and have to eat right when you feel hunger. Just every time after infusion it takes about a day or 2 to work and after for about a week I get intense hunger feelings where I eat a lot and if I don't eat I become irritated. I don't know if this is normal or not. I have asked about two people if they have the same feeling and they say they feel the same. Maybe it's me feeling good and making me feel better and when you feel better you can eat. After that week the hunger dies down and becomes I guess normal.

If anyone knows that intense hunger feeling...so if anyone gets what I mean.

I had that when I started pred and then when I was on remi.

I think it's a side effect of feeling good. when we are sick we never want to eat and when we finally feel better our body reacts with the lets eat feeling.

I absolutely know what you mean! When I was really sick, I hardly ever felt hunger, and it was easily ignored. Now when I get hungry, there's no gradual progression, I have to eat, NOW!

I guess it's the body's way of getting more calories for healing....I carry ziploc bags of pretzels or animal crackers in my purse in case I'm stuck in the car. That way I don't make the mistake of getting so hungry I stop for fast food. Absolutely the worst.

I was like that for the first 3 or so months of remicade. I think it was because I was flaring so bad before it that when I felt better I could finally eat again. Now that I can pretty much eat whatever I want and gained a ton of weight I don't ever get that feeling now.

Yes, and it's a "side effect" that I really love - because the alternative is to be in a flare and have absolutely no appetite because you're nauseous and/or in pain!
