Hi I'm wondering if anyone has had this experience. It seems too good to be true. I had a phonecall with a new consultant as mine is sick. I've had crohns for over 40 years. Many flares, no surgery, controlled well with Azathioprine and Sulfaslazine.
It's been at least 7 years since I had a flare and the last 3 colonoscopies have shown no active disease. Some scarring etc. So my telephone consultant has asked me to stop azathioprine and potentially stop sulfasalazine in 5 months time. I think this is good news but when I've stopped aza in the past I have flared.
I'm really hoping the impossible is true and I won't flare again but just wondered iif anyone else has been so lucky.?
I have been very well for over 8 years so maybe the crohns has just lost its foothold. I have decided to keep taking my current aza until I get back from a trip to costa rica.
Any comments welcome. Thanks
