I dont understand flares?

Could somebody shed some light on flares for me? Whilst im new to the diagnosis (5 months) im not new to the crappyness feeling (8 years).

I have been reading that some people get flares for 2 years? and others get it for just 1-2 days after eating the wrong food? Thats one hell of a difference?

When people are not flaring are there symptoms very minimal?

I not sure how long ive had crohns... maybe the whole 8 years? But within the last few months, ive changed from toilet 3 times a day to toilet 8 times a day. Am i likely to be in a flare? or is this just crohns?

Im still trying to get my head around all this, so any comments very welcome.

I've been dx for 11yrs now and I still don't really when I'm flaring!!! Lol I always feel fatigued but there is sometimes I feel worse than others with indigestion and bloating and cramping and my backside gets all missed up with fistulas and painful I'm guessing that's a flare all I know is I have ups and downs and can last a while. I hardly ever have the big "d" anymore more so whole body aches and fatigue
