You are more than welcome to talk here. There's always an ear here. I'm sorry for everything that's going on in your life right now.

Im sorry to hear you are having such a rough time at the moment. It can be very hard to watch a loved one go thru everything that this disease brings on us. I know my hubby has been pretty good so far but I know at times he must wonder if this is how our life is going to be. I know once I get on the right track and sorted it will get better and Im sure that will be the same for you guys. Just need to get diagnosed first then start to work out what meds are going to work for your girlfriend. I know from her point it will just be nice having you there as support. Good luck I hope your life starts to improve once your gf gets some solid answers.

I didn't know what the heck was wrong with me. I felt like crap in June of this year, took a leave of absence from work. Got sicker, I had the big D for 5 months straight by that time. It was terrible. I started getting very depressed. Stopped eating, lost 95 lbs. Started passing out, got rushed to the hospital spent 2 weeks there getting tested for everything. So much blood, so many tests. Got a probe up the butt and more blood taken. Blood said normal. Biopsies said severe Crohn's. All in all I guess it took almost 5 months of no working and being super sick. Total was 6 or 7 doctors, and ER visit, the probe and what seems to be gallons of blood.

I hope it all works out for you guys!

When you have had Crohn's a long time you get to know really quick who your real friends are. I have had a friend for over 30 years and we live in different worlds but she has always been there for me, I can call her any time for support. Turns out her son's gf has Crohns, so she has educated herself. People I have met along the way tend to walk away if you sound like a whiner. If people really ask I tell them otherwise I just say I am fine. Really they have no clue anyways. Alot of help and support here, welcome!

In all actuality it took me years to get diagnosed and I had to get to the point of needing emergent surgery practically to get it. They always diagnosed me with IBS - but I never had a colonscopy either - which would have sealed it I'm sure. I can't believe they would diagnose her -give her steroids and then remove the diagnosis with the steroids DID THEIR JOB???? That is bizarre!! Well hon - if it truly is Crohn's - she will probably be in need of steroids again at some point and maybe then they will give the diagnosis and make it STICK!
