For 5 yrs Ive had upper left stabbing pain on and off. My lipase (pancreas)lab has been slightly elevated-but drs have done 6 scopes to look at it and its fine (dad died of pan cancer).

Over the past 1.5 yrs Ive had very soft, frequent, bulky stools. In the last few months Ill have a week of total diarreha (as if I have a stomach flu) and then Ill be back to the soft stool for maybe a wk or so then full D again. Currently Im going about 5 times a day from the moment I wake up-things such as pepto do not work for me.

I know this could be a variety of things-but does this sound familiar to anyone? Ive been ruled out for most stomach issues including gallbladder so next is a full colonoscopy. The thing is I had a partial scope- (sig) 6 yrs ago that was normal, though that was when I primarily had pain and not really bowel issues.

I do not have blood in my stool, but do get oil deposits. An also I think I may have a fistula or two based on how it feels down there.

look at your diet...something you are eating/drinking may not be agreeing with you. If you have oil deposits, search for the source and eliminate it.

Use a squirt bottle after elimination to keep it clean and help heal the fistulas. Best to get it checked. Feel better!

I think you're right that it could be any number of things. The only way you'll know for certain is to get tests - some people with Crohn's on this forum may well have experienced similar, while others won't. Crohn's is just too variable and there are so many conditions which could cause your symptoms. If you feel the need for answers or treatment, it may be worthwhile going back to the doctors. The amount of diarrhoea you describe does sound like something that should be checked out, and it is possible that tests done now may show things that weren't there years ago.

Hi there I've been diagnosed with crohns colitis. My toilet habits were just like yours.
At least your having colonoscopy done. Please keep in touch and let me know how it goes. :ghug:
