I think my remicade is no longer working...

I had one week to go before my next treatment, and I had a bad flare up. Someone wanted ribs, and the spicy BBQ sauce got me bad. I had diarrhea after that but since then, now I'm constipated and haven't gone in a couple of days. I tried to make myself go after 2 days, and got some out, but the next day, nothing. My next infusion is on Tuesday, and I'll bring it up to the doc. But is there anything I can do till then about the constipation? I went back on my low residue/ liquid diet, cut out coffee, and am doing the usual flare diet. I guess the 8 months of remission was too good to be true!

Maybe you need to get your infusions more frequently?
Did you have constipation in the past as a symptom of Crohn's?

I never had constipation as a symptom before. This morning I managed to go some, but it was difficult. I'll bring it up to my GI doc on Tuesday.

Is your stool hard, or are you just having a hard time passing stool? Mention it to your doc, you could have a blockage.

The stool was a little hard, but some was soft too, it was mostly hard to pass. I'll bring it up with the sic on Tuesday, I have been managing to get some out today and the day before.

Thanks, I had a good BM after some prune juice, so that put my mind at ease!
