I heard a lot about the wonders of green tea for digestion.
I got some decaff green tea and drank some (I had it pretty weak too) and it gives me a burning sensation in my stomach, it's not heartburn... or not heartburn as I typically feel it. It's burning, like inflammation, but happens almost immediately, followed by extreme thirst (a symptom I get often from trigger foods). I'm in really good health of late so it shouldn't just be triggering something I'm already experiencing, seems to be an exclusive effect.
Why would tea have this effect on me? Coffee has no obvious negative effects on me, in fact I drank it for the longest time because oddly tap water would cause the same discomfort as drinking tea, so I don't believe it's caffeine.
I've had some weird symptoms before which I later came to understand but this one's a head scratcher.
