Yes my fellow citizens I defeated crohns; how you ask?
My crohns was caused by gluten, so I tried (after many years of pain, strugle and madication) a gluten-free diet. And yes it worked. I'm 31 years old and had crohns all my life but found out what was my sickness at the age of 22 and only 2 years ago I found out about gluten-free diet. Now I know other foods that make me sick or I have allergy to like eggs or corn but the main one is gluten which is causing my body to attack the walls of my intestines when gluten tries to penetrate and it shouldn't but yes it's my genetics that caused it and the fact that I was fed some bread during infancy and smoking cigarettes only stimulated the simptoms. Let me know if it helps, because I have a second life that I got at the age of 29 and I want you to have one too.
And yes no more medication, which the last one that I took was methotrixate that I injected myself into my thigh once a week.
I wish you all recovery.
sincerely, John S.

Congratulations John. Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your story. Pardon the pun, but you've provided food for thought. However, and let me say this in a most respectful and tactful way, I most of all hope that this continues to work for you. It may be just my superstitious nature, but I hope that your stating your good health here doesn't jinx you. A remission of just a few years is not unheard of or even all that uncommon. Remissions of 10 years have happened. I had one w/o treatment, even pre diagnosis. I wasn't taking drugs, or watching my diet, or anything like that. Your diet may well have caused or attributed to your current state of health. I've read anecdotal reports of patients who've also had success in this fashion.. Unfortunately, there are others who've tried the very same diet w/o similar success... almost a 3:1 ratio of it not working vs it working. Go figure. I am glad that you joined, and welcome your contributions to the forum, and pray that things continue to go well for you. I think everyone here will share in that sentiment. And who knows, someone on here may try the diet w equal results.

It works for me

it works for me 100% because I have to say that sometimes I can't resist some foods that contain gluten and yes I notice the pain right away; also I still test myself for every type of food; my next one is beens and I'll start with green ones cause I noticed that after beens I develop some pain (simular to crohns) so I suspect the fiber in beens to have something to do with my body :)
I wish everyone that they had enough support and strengt to try 'food elimination diets' which will really show them how their body respondes to each food they eat;
happy diets everyone
