I'm sorry to bother you with whAt will will surely be a long story.
On July 10 I finally went to the ER with severe pain in right hip/flank. C t showed that I had an abcsess near my appendix. They drained it out and sent me home on antibiotics.
About 10 days later I went back with the same pain. Ct showed the same thing. They drained. This time they left the drain in. 2 weeks go by, back in the hospital for same thing. C.t. shows that abcsess is gone, but have now developed a fistula. The first thing that that they planned on doing was home TPN for 4-6 weeks and NPO. I was devastated. They came back the next day with the crohns specialist. He recommended the ileocecectomy.he didn't feel comfortable with the odds of the fistula closing on its own.
My surgery got scheduled for 8-27. I ended up back at the ER on 8-25.
Had the surgery last Wednesday. I was not expecting the pain. After the first few days I passed gas then had a BM the next day. I developed a fever though. And still nobody knows why. Had a c.t scan this morning and results came back clear. A little bit of fluid and arena, but both doctors agreed this is normal post op.so finally after day 9 they said if I get through the night without any horrible fevers will be discharged.
I can already tell that this will be a long road. I can't even imagine where to begin. But reading through these forums the last few days has given hope, which is what I needed. Fingers crossed fever stays down.
